Shanghai's like any large Asian city; always more picturesque at night, when the visual assault of neon lights glitz up the grey monotony of 70's and 80's low-rent architecture.
Case in point:
Waibaidu Bridge in the daytime. Meh.
Waibaidu Bridge at Night. Phooyoh.
Peace Hotel on the Bund. Double meh.
